 Shimla
Shimla is the capital of HImachal Pradesh shimla is the most beautiful place in Himachal. Thousands of people come here over around the world to see the Shimla or its beauty. In 1864, Shimla was declared as the summer capital of British India, the city became the capital of Punjab and was later made the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla is home to a number of buildings that are styled in the Tudorbethan and neo-Gothic architecture dating from the colonial era, as well as multiple temples and churches. It is located 113 Km from Chandigarh and 343 Km from Delhi. Shimla is famous for its tourist places “the ridge, Jakhoo hill, Mall road, Kufri, Chail, Naldehra”.  You reach the Shimla by bus , plane or train and also take a helicopter taxi from Chandigarh Mohali.




Famous place of shimla :-

 The Ridge




The ridge is a very famous place in shimla The Ridge road is a large open space, located in the center of Shimla. There are also a christ church built by british. It is situated along the Mall Road, which is the famous shopping Place of  Shimla. You also see very famous place of the   Shimla from  the Ridge like  Jakhoo hill, Lakkar bazaar and Snowdon, Mall. The Ridge road leads to Lakkar Bazaar, a wooden crafts market. You also see a jakhoo temple mountain from The ridge. Underneath the Ridge, large water tanks are placed from which water is supplied to the British era tourist town, this tank stored 1000000 gallons liters  of water, this tank significantly large in size, that's why this tank used for   the main water supply for Shimla. The reservoir is stated to have been constructed in the 1880s, without using any cement and only lime mortar was used.

Mall Road 




Mall road is located near the Ridge mall road is famous for its shops, showroom,  restaurant mall road built by british. You also see  a handicraft products shops, locally designed woolen clothes, branded clothes, wooden products and jewellery. There are also office of municipal corporation, fire service, and police headquarters. On this road vehicles are not allowed even emergency vehicles. This road is only for walking.



Jakhoo hill 




Jakhoo hill is the highest peak in Shimla its height is 200m from Shimla Ridge. This mountain full of trees of Alpine and on the top of the mountain there is the very old colorful temple of Hanuman. A giant 108-feet-high idol of Hanuman was unveiled at Jakhoo Hanuman temple on November 2010 this idol also sees from Ridge. There are so many monkeys around the temple surprisingly do attack people. They, however, look for food from tourists. So be careful from there monkeys. It is believed that at the time of Ramayan hanuman take a rest on this place while searching for the Sanjivni Booti to revive Lakshmana.

Chail

Chail is a very famous hill station in Shimla it is located 44 Km from Shimla. It is known for its wholesome beauty and dense forests. This place was built by the Maharaja of Patiala(“Raja Bhupinder Singh”) and also built a cricket ground and a polo ground on the top of a mountain this is the world's highest cricket ground. This place is a very good place to spend the holidays. There are also a military school, temples, and Maharaja palace maharaja that donated most of his buildings to Chail Military School and Government of India. Chail is mostly famous for Siddha Baba ka Mandir, Kali ka Tibba, Gurudwara Sahib, Chail Sanctuary, Cricket Ground, Maharaja's Palace and Chail Military School.

 Kufri 

Kufri is a very small hill station in Shimla it is located 20Km from the main Shimla. This place is very attractive for tourists in winter on the time of winter this place full of snow because of its proximity to Shimla and relatively higher altitude which makes this place very cold. There is also a zoo where you see bear, monal and so many animals and birds. Kufri is very famous for skiing the slopes, heights, and the snowy carpet best suited for skiing. Kufri is a crowded and popular area as almost everyone visiting Shimla comes here.
 Naldehra     

Naldehra is also a very small hill station in Shimla it is located 22 Km from Shimla. This place was founded by Lord Curzon, the British Viceroy of India. It is a perfect heaven for tourists looking for natural scenic beauty. This is a very peaceful and adventurous environment and a lush green valley. This place fully covered with pine trees, Naldehra is a very famous for its greenery and very old Golf Course. At the time of winter, this place cover with snowfall. You can take a horse ride in this place.

Chadwick falls


Chadwick falls is located 5 Km from the summer hill railway station. There are Glen Forest over around the Chadwick falls. The name Chadwick is derived from 'Chidku Jhaar' where 'Chidku' means sparrow and 'Jhaar' means waterfall. This is the best place for mountain lovers and waterfalls lovers. On the time of monsoons level of water is increased making the place even more beautiful with its sparkling water. The water in Chadwick falls is very cold, chilly, pure and refreshing. Chadwick fall is the best place for Trekking and hiking. The best time to visit the Chadwick Falls is during the months of July to November.

Lakkar Bazaar


Lakkar Bazaar is famous for its wood handcrafted objects. It is located near The Ridge and nearby IGMC(Indira Gandhi Medical College).
In Lakkar bazaar you also see a wooden toy and so many things that are made of wood. Regal Building, comprising a Cinema Hall, Roller Skating Hall, and Meena Bazar is a famous place in Lakkar Bazaar.


Sarahan


Sarahan is a small village in Shimla of Himachal Pradesh. this place famous for  Bhimakali Temple, originally known as Bhimadevi Temple dedicated to the mother goddess Bhimakali.  Sarahan is 42 km from Nahan town of Shimla.  There are good trekking opportunities around this less explored hill station.

While there are numerous Mahunag temples throughout Himachal Pradesh, this particular temple is considered the principal one, often referred to as Mul Mahunag. Chindi Mata Mandir Chindi Mata temple is located in Chindi village this temple is also a historical temple. This temple is Thousands of years old and this temple is fully made by handcraft wooden. Bijli Mahadev Temple Kullu

  Bijli Mahadev Temple Bijli Mahadev is one of the sacred temples of Himachal Pradesh. It is located at an altitude of about 2,460m from Kullu valley. Across the Beas River, Bijli Mahadev Temple is one of the ancient and sacred temples in India. This temple dedicated to lord shiva. Kamaksha Devi temple

  Kamaksha Devi Temple Kamaksha Devi temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga this temple is located in Kao this is a small town of karsog tehsil. This temple is situated on the top of one hill and this temple fully made of wooden. It is believed that the devil Manhishasur and Goddess Durga war on this place.  Manhishasur was in the form of a buffalo and hence every year on the time of Navratri evening numerous buffaloes sacrifice at this temple but now in the Indian Constitution sacrifice of animals is not allowed in India.  Kamaksha Devi temple was full of different kinds of idols. This temple is 6 Km from Karsog bus stand and 91Km from Mandi and 96Km from Shimla.  Kamaksha Devi temple one of the most important temples in Karsog if you want to go to this place then go on at 7:30 am in the morning and 7:30 pm in the evening because this time is Aarti time of this temple otherwise this temple always open whole days of the week.
