Kinnaur is one of twelve districts Kinnaur is a land of god there local people believed in their local god. Kinnaur is a treasure of beauty there big mountains full of snow. Kinnaur is also known for its serenity and beauty. It is located 235km from Shimla and 370km from Chandigarh.
Kinnaur is 2,320 to 6,816 meters from sea level Kinnaur is one of the smallest districts in India by population. Kinnaur is famous for the Kinner Kailash, a mountain sacred to Hindus. It has three high mountain ranges, namely, Zanskar and Himalayas that enclosed valleys of Sutlej, Spiti, Baspa and their tributaries. The population of Kinnaur is 84,298 and  Literacy rate of Kinnaur is 80:00 %. There are six tehsils namely Kalpa, Pooh, Sangla, Moorang, Hangrang,  Nichar. Kailash is a religious place for Hindus because of the huge "SHIVA LINGAM", which is a 79 feet vertical rock formation that looks like a Shivlinga. There are also few old Buddhist monasteries in the locality and these monasteries created and are revered by Buddhists. Kinnaur is also famous for its apples, Chilgoza, handlooms and handicrafts materials and also for its dangerous road and Beautiful mountains.

  Nako

Nako is located 3363m above sea level and 3 kms above the Hangrang valley and 119 m from Kalpa. Nako is a picturesque village that is full of eye capturing surroundings and is the most significant village situated in the Kinnaur. In nako village there are also one very wonderful lake that’s name is nako lake, it formspart of the boundary of Nako village and seems that the village is half buried in the lake's border and the lake is surrounded by willow and poplar trees. Near lake there are 4 Buddhist temples and monasteries these temples is small but significant Buddhist temples. Near the lake, one can also find the footprints of the saint Padmasambhava, who is believed to have meditated at the spot for many years. And if you are Foreign person and you want to stay here overnight then you also need permissions to stay overnight. In this place  the visitors feel as if they have been transported to some other world altogether, and thus, the Nako Village is a must visit on your next visit to Himachal Pradesh.

Kalpa

Kalpa is a small town in the Sutlej river valley, above Reckong Peo, Kalpa  is a place to remember and cherish. Kalpa is located at an altitude of 2759 m from the sea level.  Kinnauri people and known for its apple orchards. Apples are a major cash-crop for the region. It is 14 kms. from District Headquarter Reckong Peo and 260kms from Shimla. There are few Buddhist Monasteries in Kalpa such as Gompa and Hu-Bu-Lan-car which are among the top tourist spots in the  village and the suicide point also very famous in Kalpa. Kalpa is hub of Buddhist Culture in kinnaur. there are  many mountains with snow over around the kalpa. Kalpa is a  very popular town with a history of ancient temples. kalpa is bordered with the chilgoza forests.
  

Sangla

Sangla is  a crowded place or village , situated on the right bank of the Baspa river. Sangla Valley is surrounded by evergreen forests and  mountain slopes. starting point of Sangla Valley or the Baspa Valley is Karcham and ends point is Chitkul. Sangla is the  most popular place for  trekking trails. The valley is different  from others by its red apples orchard and luscious cherry trees. there are so many temples, meandering and gurgling, and apple orchards  making it  an amazing holiday destination.  Baspa valley is one of the most prettiest valleys from other valleys  due to its flat terrain and green vegetation.


 Reckong Peo

Reckong Peo is headquarter of Kinnaur and lies in the middle of the Himalayas Reckong Peo also known as Peo. Reckong Peo was build on 1st May 1960 and was known as Kinnaura earlier. Reckong Peo is situated at an altitude of 2670 m from the sea level and 235 km from shimla .There are you also see the panoramic  view of Kinner Kailash. Reckong Peo is only one place in kinnaur there you see many stores and numerous facilities including medicines, electronic accessories and other general stores.

Kinner kaliash is also known as kinnaur Kailash it is the place of Lord Shiva it is located at an altitude of 6500 meters above the sea level. This place considered sacred by both Hindu and Buddhist Kinnauris. The alluring landscapes of this place make it the most popular tourist spot in kinnaur.

Chindi Mata Mandir Chindi Mata temple is located in Chindi village this temple is also a historical temple. This temple is Thousands of years old and this temple is fully made by handcraft wooden. Mul Mahunag Temple Karsog

  Mahunag Temple   Mahunag Temple is a very Famous and Historical temple in Karsog this temple dedicated to the god Shiva. In Himachal Pradesh so many temples of Mahunag but this temple is the main temple Mahunag that's why this temple is called Mul Mahunag. This temple is 32 Km from the Karsog bus stand and 84 Km from Shimla. This temple is located on the top of the hill and from there we see a very beautiful and awesome view.  Every year in May and June there local people holding the fair. Traveling  from Karsog This temple is 32 km from Karsog and we start our journey at 1 Pm from Karsog with my friends on our personal vehicle. The road of Mahunag from Karsog to Churag is very good and open but after the road is very narrow. But the road is safe to drive if you drive at normal speed. We reach this place in one and a half hours.  This temple is very beautiful and big from the outside and you can see many mountains from this temple and also see apple gardens and many trees of Hima

Bijli Mahadev Temple Kullu

  Bijli Mahadev Temple Bijli Mahadev is one of the sacred temples of Himachal Pradesh. It is located at an altitude of about 2,460m from Kullu valley. Across the Beas River, Bijli Mahadev Temple is one of the ancient and sacred temples in India. This temple dedicated to lord shiva. It is said that the Bijli Mahadev Temple houses a Shiva Linga which was broken into pieces by skying lightning, then after the priest of the temple joint back together these pieces by using butter. A scenic view of Kullu and Paravati valleys can be seen from the temple. Over around the area of the temple, there are no single trees,  it is believed that this place is the body of a big snake and this snake was killed by Lord Shiva because this snake was a very big devil this devil took a form of a snake and disturbing there local people then after lord shiva killed this devil.
