Kinnaur is 2,320 to 6,816 meters from sea level Kinnaur is one of the smallest districts in India by population. Kinnaur is famous for the Kinner Kailash, a mountain sacred to Hindus. It has three high mountain ranges, namely, Zanskar and Himalayas that enclosed valleys of Sutlej, Spiti, Baspa and their tributaries. The population of Kinnaur is 84,298 and Literacy rate of Kinnaur is 80:00 %. There are six tehsils namely Kalpa, Pooh, Sangla, Moorang, Hangrang, Nichar. Kailash is a religious place for Hindus because of the huge "SHIVA LINGAM", which is a 79 feet vertical rock formation that looks like a Shivlinga. There are also few old Buddhist monasteries in the locality and these monasteries created and are revered by Buddhists. Kinnaur is also famous for its apples, Chilgoza, handlooms and handicrafts materials and also for its dangerous road and Beautiful mountains.

Nako
Nako is located 3363m above sea level and 3 kms above the Hangrang valley and 119 m from Kalpa. Nako is a picturesque village that is full of eye capturing surroundings and is the most significant village situated in the Kinnaur. In nako village there are also one very wonderful lake that’s name is nako lake, it formspart of the boundary of Nako village and seems that the village is half buried in the lake's border and the lake is surrounded by willow and poplar trees. Near lake there are 4 Buddhist temples and monasteries these temples is small but significant Buddhist temples. Near the lake, one can also find the footprints of the saint Padmasambhava, who is believed to have meditated at the spot for many years. And if you are Foreign person and you want to stay here overnight then you also need permissions to stay overnight. In this place the visitors feel as if they have been transported to some other world altogether, and thus, the Nako Village is a must visit on your next visit to Himachal Pradesh.

Sangla
Reckong Peo is headquarter of Kinnaur and lies in the middle of the Himalayas Reckong Peo also known as Peo. Reckong Peo was build on 1st May 1960 and was known as Kinnaura earlier. Reckong Peo is situated at an altitude of 2670 m from the sea level and 235 km from shimla .There are you also see the panoramic view of Kinner Kailash. Reckong Peo is only one place in kinnaur there you see many stores and numerous facilities including medicines, electronic accessories and other general stores.
Kinner kaliash is also known as kinnaur Kailash it is the place of Lord Shiva it is located at an altitude of 6500 meters above the sea level. This place considered sacred by both Hindu and Buddhist Kinnauris. The alluring landscapes of this place make it the most popular tourist spot in kinnaur.
