Himachal Pradesh veer bhumi Hamirpur


Hamirpur:- In 1972 Hamirpur carved out from Kangra District. Hamirpur cover 1,118 square
kilometers area of Himachal. Hamirpur was built by Raja Hamir Chand and he was the famous
ruler of Hamirpur. The population of Hamirpur is 454,768. In Hamirpur is 5 division and 10 tehsils. Tehsils namely Hamirpur Sadar, Nadaun, Badsar, Tauni Devi, Bhoranj, Dhatwal ( Bijhari), Galore,Sujanpur, Kangoo (Sub Tehsil), Bhota (Sub Tehsil).It is also known as veer bhumi because of its maximum people in the army. It is the most educated district in Himachal Pradesh the literacy rate of Hamirpur is 88.15 percent. There are 5 sub divisions {sub division Hamirpur, sub division Barsar, sub division.

Sujanpur Tira fort

Sujanpur Tira is situated at a distance of 22kms from Hamirpur and Sujanpur Tira fort located on the top of one mountain in Sujanpur and this mountain name is Tira. The fort was built by Raja Abhay Chand of the Katoch dynasty of Kangra in 1758. The main attraction of the fort is the Gauri Shankar Temple. There are a large number of wall paintings.

Awah Devi(jalpa devi)

 Awah Devi Temple is situated 24kms from Hamirpur, it was 250 years old temple in Hamirpur. This temple at the highest point of Hamirpur. Jalpa Devi is worshipped by a few locals as Kul Devi.

Tauni Devi Temple

Tauni Devi  temple is situated 12kms from Hamirpur on Awah Devi road. People believe Tauni Devi is a sister of goddess Durga. It was 200 years old temple. Every year fair takes place in the temple month of june-july and hundreds of people  attended this fair every year.



Nadaun fort


Nadaun fort also known as “Amter Nadaun fort” this fort residence of Raja Sansar Chand.This fort very famous place for tourister there are some old wall paintings that attract tourists. Nadaun fort is situated on top of the mountain in a Nadaun city.

Deotsidh Temple

Deotsidh temple is also a famous with the name of “Baba Balak Nath” temple. It is situated  45 km away from Hamirpur near the Hamirpur or Bilaspur border. It is believed that the Baba Balak Nath left his home in very small age and go to meditated and Baba Balak Nath chose this place for meditating. This temple is one  of the biggest revenue sources in Himachal Pradesh because every Navratri and Holi this temple is full of people for worship.

Narbadeshwar temple

It is a 200 years old temple it is situated in Sujanpur town and was built by Maharani Prasanni Devi, the wife of Raja Sansar Chand. There are so many temples around the Narbadeshwar, which are dedicated to Durga, Laxmi Naryana, and Mahisasur Mardini.
